Olhon
Olhon is the name of the long term project involving Massimo Magrini and Zairo (Where).
The new work, Underwater passage, is now available at Eibon records.
It is based upon underwater recordings taken in 2007,
taken using special sensing microphones attached to an abandoned telephone cable
running on the sea bottom at -40 m.; they were then processed with particular demodulating treatments,
resulting in a complex and rich ambiental monument.
Strange clicks, impulses, a load of movements. Definitely far from the usual concept of dark ambient
low-rumbling drones only, "Underwater passage" shimmers with cutting mid/high frequencies bursts.
